Forgive me if this question seems elementary, but I have not really played online Poker much before and now am starting to do so.

I noticed that many people recommend Limit Hold'em over No Limit in places like PartyPoker, and I was just wondering why that's the case. I play No Limit Poker with my friends and usually do well, but I tried playing online yesterday and ended up barely breaking even. After some thought I realized that this must be due to the fact that there seems to be a much higher percentage of calling stations than in real life, so it's harder to make educated moves. So I'm wondering if the reason why people prefer limit is because the pots are more consistent, so one dumb all-in by a rookie player who manages to catch a card on the river won't cripple you as much? Also, I've heard that the low limit tables aren't worth playing at due to the high rakes, what tables do you guys recommend for Limit Hold'em? Thanks.

The rake thing doesn't apply online. The rakes in the smallest stakes are still reasonable online (usually 5%)

So stop making "moves" and value bet them to death. Overall, online playrs are more aggressive and tend to call down.
