hi guys i,m new here and have one question for omaha low players.
Some days ago i thought it was sng holde,m but it was sng omaha h/l tournament.Ok i dont, know nothing about omaha but i will try not to waste money maybe i will get lucky.i realised on fast way basic rules (even that for low you ned 2 cards from hand and 3 cards lower then 8 from table.) it was enough that i realised that picking the right starting hand is almost all in omaha h/l.i won that sng.but after that i played some more Omaha h/l tournaments(succesfully but not knowing best that low rule) i find it this:

i thought then that i understand low hand but then today lost low agaisn,t hand that supposed to be higher according to this site.I realy have no idea now what is low hand really.Specially when paired low card comes on flop.

just thought you should know the link doesnt work.
im DEFINIETELY no expert on omaha hi/lo (I dont think ive really played a serious game of it), but heres how the low hand works..
A low hand is made with five cards that are all 8 or lower, an ace counting as the lowest.
In low hands no pairs exist, but straights or flushes can as they dont count against you.
The lowest possible hand is A2345. (called a wheel, or a 5 low)
The highest possible low hand is 87654. (called 8 low)
so basically lets say you have 2-9-J-Q-K
and your opponent has 5-6-7-8-9
even though you have the lowest card (a 2) he has the better lower hand (hence the better hand) as all his cards are 9 or lower (remember also that straights and flushes dont count against you in a low hand)
hope that clarifies it up for you, and I hope Im right !

I've played a LOT (1000s of hands) of Omaha hi/lo 8-or-better.
If the board is KQ654 and you hold A7JT and your opponent holds 23JK your opponent has a 6 low and you have a 7 low.
Your low hand is:
7654A
Your opponent's low hand is:
65432
an easy way to think about it
Consider the ace to represent the number 1
Make a 5 digit number out of the cards that make up each low hand. In the example above, your low "number" turns out to be:
76,541
while your opponent's is:
65,432
Since 65432 < 76541, the 65432 is lower.
Believe me, the first time I ran into this it REALLY stung. I thought the other players were trying to pull a fast one on the noob(me), but they were right.
