Hi there, I have a question...hope it doesn't sound to dumb! I played in a cash game today...low limit at Senior Center. We played Omaha high, and the board had A/J/8/7 & 3.
Of the 2 players left in the hand, one player had a pair of Q's, and the other player had a A and a 10 kicker as their 2 cards for the win. Can someone tell me who the winner is of this hand? I spoke up and said the player with the pair of Q's was the winner, because he had the required two cards in his hand. Can someone advise me as to who was the winner and how you came to that conclusion?

pair of aces beats a pair of queens
if the other 2 cards were completely irrelevant then one player had
a-a-j-t-8
other player had
a-q-q-j-8
pair of aces wins

no problem, if you're new to Omaha try to DVR Poker After Dark on NBC the next two weeks, it's a high-stakes Omaha cash game with 6 of the best players in the world. Typically airs at 3 AM EST.
