8 handed micros
Hero is playing like shit

Hero is HJ with AhAd
2 folds, MP calls, Hero raises, 2 folds, SB calls, BB folds, MP calls

Flop: 8c9cJc

SB checks, HJ checks, Hero checks

Turn:Kc

SB checks, MP bets, Hero folds, SB folds

Is this way too tight? I don't think so, but that's me. While typing this I am preparing myself for getting bashed for the flop check. However, I just finished reading a section in SSHE talking about such a situation. I think Im supposed to check the flop and lead if a good card for me hits, something like the 2h.

This was just a horrible board, I almost gave up on this hand and when the turn card hit I knew I was done. But maybe I played it too soft, maybe I need to man up a little bit.

If its me, I'm raising that turn bet. In fact, I'm betting on the flop, too.

Raising that turn bet is spewing in a big time way. You are right that not betting the flop is also a fairly big mistake though.

I know exactly what chapter you're talking about here it's the "2 overpair hands" section. and the "When betting out won't protect your hand".

Since there are 7 bets in the pot They have odds to call to just about anything, so you wait till the turn when there are only 3.5 bets in the pot and start firing away.

This is very borderline. I don't have time to check but I think the pot was a little bigger than this like offering around 10-1 or 12-1, or even 20-1. Note, that if it's checked to the guy on your right, and he bets the flop; you should RAISE to protect your hand on the flop and hope the cards miss.

But I like the fact that you tried to apply what you're reading. This was a situational call, and I think you made the right decision.
The older I get, the more I start wondering; Just what in the hell is going on here?
