Playing in a 5 card drae tournament and two players (one was me) were knocked out within 6 hands by players who drew 2 cards and made a flush. Crazy...what are the odds of drawing into a 3 card flush?

Not high. ...although I caught 3 perfect to a royal flush once on a blind steal...

The key to open blind 5 card draw is not to draw except perhaps when completing the SB after limpers (but open-limping in this game is HORRIBLE) or if you can rep a made hand and get away with it often enough.

I love this game played for cash because of all the stupid draws and the ability to hustle the thinking players. Free money!

I agree with you. I will raise with a draw, or reraise with a straight flush draw...i'll occaisionally call a draw if I have an Ace in hand...but rarely. My favorite move is the reraise stand pat bluff. It works everytime.

Thinking players always assume you have the made hand since they showed strength.

Second favorite is to raise with small trips and stand pat on the draw. There are enough morons to call your post draw bet with 2 pair to make it a profitable move and chances are you wont improve your hand anyhow.

The chance of drawing two the a flush:

You have 5 known cards - 3 of the suite, and two of other suite
10/47*9/46 = 4%
Not that great a chance
