sorry, having trouble with the converter remembering who the hell i am...

somehow it kind of "gelled" for me today pre-flop, which allowed me to think a bit more about how far to take hands, and when to dump them. i won a good bit of biggies, with a couple scoops in there, but here are a couple that made me scratch my head...only because of the results i would have seen for one more bet on the river.

i felt once the 2 came, i had no realistic shot at the low, but did i hit the flop hard enough to even continue? what about as played...should i have called the river with a 2nd best low? this is where i have a spot of trouble with board reading...this appears to look like its easily beat, but for another .04, i could have had the low. that feels like it was more luck than a hand where i should have stuck around for the river?

how bout this one?

was this a horrible river fold? my HI was trashed, and my Lo looked good until the A drops, then it was way to easy for any of these guys to have any 3. i know its bad to get quartered (which i wouldve done with the Lo), but thats gotta be better than dumping a hand on the river that i could have at least gotten a little back off of, right?

heres a scoop i was surprised by, but thought i played pretty well (knowing when to stop, but not fold)...

spenda, about the av....love gulbis. btw, it seems some chick golfers are gaining some "undulation." good to see in places other than the greens. however, no one can replace jan stephenson, to me. at least, not yet.

I would love to comment but I've never played limit (on purpose). I feel like it's a completely different game

it is, and its not (coming from HE). the fundamentals are basically the same, but the nuances can be totally different...not that you didnt already know that.

for me, its just an easy way to watch action for cheap, while i try to study the game...and jump in a little bit. i can carry hands too far and still not get punished nearly as bad. thats the real learning for me.

Even at micro stakes you're missing a huge component of the game by playing limit. You're rarely going to bluff a pot, or more importantly punish someone who plays shitty hands.

Have you played Omaha? I think it's easier to pick up and I was shocked at how transparent some players make their hand. Either way, bite the bullet and risk 3-4 buy-ins. Buy-in short to start if you want.

addition:
you seem like an intelligent person and a thinking poker player. Just playing tight and being able to pick spots to push people off pots, and value betting weak hands into a calling station is enough to break even at a new game at micro stakes.

the hard thing for me to see at limit is that when they "turn on the gas," they have the nut Lo or nut Hi...i dont care how stupid the Hi is, they got it. hard to believe sometimes.

may try PL, i feel i have a decent grasp on the flow, but if i lose $1000, it should be on your head, swigg.
