Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (10 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx
Preflop: Hero is UTG with A , A .
Hero raises, UTG+1 calls, 4 folds, CO calls, 1 fold, SB calls, BB calls.
Flop: (10 SB) K , 5 , A (5 players)
SB checks, BB checks, Hero bets, UTG+1 calls, CO calls, SB calls, BB calls.
Turn: (7.50 BB) 3 (5 players)
SB bets, BB folds, Hero calls, UTG+1 calls, CO calls.
River: (11.50 BB) K (4 players)
SB bets, Hero ??
It's only worth one or two big bets in the end, but I was curious what the proper thinking by the resident experts here was. Do I raise the river and possibly push both players behind out (SB is LAGGY and unpredicatable but I don't think enough to re-raise here)? Or call down hoping they both call down also, possibly one of them holds a king and reriases? I didn't raise the turn because the SB was unpredictable and I didn't put it past him to have 24. So, I "called for value" (does that term even exist?) hoping to fill up on the river. Do you raise the turn?

"I value call my nuts" lol.
A) you don't have the nuts. you have the 2nd nuts.
b) raise. hopefully one of the 2 behind you will call, and sb will 3 bet.
Your turn call is just okay There are a couple draws out that could beat you, and you are giving them odds to come along. I don't tend to go for overcalls on the river since a lot of the time, both players will fold anyway to the bet and call in front of them. If they are weak enough to overcall on this board, they are probably weak enough to call a raise.

To win in poker you only need to be one step ahead of your opponents. Two steps may be detrimental.

Yeah.
And the river. You don't care about overcalls- you want to go to war with someone.

raise because it sucks when you call and no one else does
if you raise you give yourself the chance to beat up on trip kings

There's a section in SSH that reccommends just calling and hoping for several over calls in hands where you have the nuts or second nuts. However I could not bring myself to call on the river...
raise the turn too :P you don't want someone rivering a 1 card gutshot do you?

It tells you to call IF it's the more profitable move. Here I don't think it is.
Plus, I would expect someone to call two bets anyway.

I would raise the turn too in this game, but that is somewhat close and could be effected by reads.
