I have no idea what people do at these limits. but lets change those cents into dollars.

Here I'd be willing to take my chances of getting quartered.

1. 3 way pot. getting quartered loses you 50. IF you get quartered. They don't always have it you know
2. you have counterfeit protection. You can get a good half if you get an counterfeiting A or 2.
3. your high potential is very weak, but not non-existant. Especially if it becomes a 2 way pot, a J can win you 3/4s... or a 5

so I'd call on the turn. stick it in on a A, 2, 5 or J river and check-call otherwise

ok thanks. I did think long and hard before I folded but I had no real plan for the turn so I figured it would keep me out of trouble.

If Villian would raise preflop without A2, I'd strongly consider calling here. That's the one thing that sort of sucks about PLO8, you never know when you've got nut low against two guys drawing high, nut low against a guy who also has the nut low and is going for high and a guy going high, etc. As a general rule I try to avoid situations that look like I'm going to get quartered unless I have a ton of nut outs to scoop or at least 3/4 scoop.

As a general rule I believe the pot has to be 5-way for a straight 2-way quarter of the low to be profitable.

A2 against A2 really stinks because you're faced with one of two options, donate money to the hand going high, or donate your equity in the pot to the other guy with A2 because you don't want to get quartered. You can never move anyone who doesn't understand the concept of quartering off of A2, so in order for you to protect your investment in the pot you actually have to fold and let the donkey get the equity, it's absolutely sick. The only other option you have is decreasing his equity at the expense of your own. How sick is that for being the better or worst of two evils.

just remember that everybody gets quartered. I get quartered. Sammy Farha gets quartered.

All you can do is decrease the risk and take your chances in the right spots. Here I think there's enough upside to compensate for the downside. Without the 4, I would fold.

Another error a lot of poor players make is they call on the flop with ONLY A2, and only 2 lows on the board, while having no shot at high whatsoever
