These aren't hands to talk about. I just want to keep the results a secret so you can better see how they were played. Tell me if I raised when I shouldn't have, called when I shouldn't have, etc. I'm good at the holdem part, but the limit part is hurting me. I am just trying to find where I am good and where I am bad.

BTW - I've finally found a limit game that is cheap enough that I can afford to get in without risking too much, but it solid enough that I can get "real" limit experience from it.
I don't know what they have to say
It makes no difference anyway.
Whatever it is...
I'm against it.

Interesting hands...

Hand 1:
pre-flop: Close. At a loose table if you expect weird raises and other cold-callers it's fine.
Flop: Fine
Turn: Bet, fold to a raise. Free cards bad.
River: Fine. If I bet the turn I might be more inclined to check behind if a worse card came on the river.

Hand 2:
pre-flop: Horrible, don't cold call a raise with KJo.
flop: Maybe bet and hope the button folds so you can check the turn. It's a big enough pot to make a move.
turn: Mixed feelings about calling vs raising. If mixalias is likely to bet the river, I might wait for the river to raise.

I'm trying to pick up the ins and outs of limit. In limit you raise for value more than NL. You can rarely bluff, even with bigger limits, but obviously not with small limits like this.

On hand 1 I needed another 9 to feel comfortable betting. My overpair was a good thing, and I bet it on the flop. This gave me 2 things. 1 a slight read on who had hands. 2, a free card if I needed it on the turn.

Hand 2. I again have to remind you that I am a NL player. So playing hands like KJo from late position don't seem that bad when I can potentially see the turn / river pretty cheap. I wouldn't play this hand in a raised pot in NL, but limit I wanted to see where it would take me. I have the discipline to fold if needed. I'm only trying to improve, and I have the holdem knowledge to know what is 2nd best. But a bigger (maybe the biggest) factor in playing this was I almost disregarded mixalias' raise because he did only 2 things pre-flop, raise or fold, then played very weak post flop.

BTW - I'm doing more than posting hand histories to get better at limit. I have finally gotten my hands on Sklansky's Holdem for Advanced players. I borrowed it from a friend and started reading it just last night. It talkes mostly about limit, so I am sure to pick up a thing or two from that.

With an overpair of 9s and no aggression shown, you must assume your hand is good and bet the turn.

KJo isn't an implied odds hand and 2SB isn't a cheap flop relative to future betting rounds. Against a raise you're almost always a dog. Limit is all about small edges.

Anyway... post flop I thought about it some more. Call the turn, call the river, but bet if checked to. You're not worried about 2 pair with the 6s on the board so there is little reason to knock anyone else out and it would already to incorrect to call 1BB with 4ish outs so you welcome overcalls. You have serious kicker concerns and if he's spewing chips with a med pocket pair you don't want to slow him down.
