Bringing 20bb's to the table and then not reloading until you're broke. I've seen, for example, the Grinder do this but haven't yet read any theory on it. I tried it anyway and found I felt more secure, but then I flopped quad 6's and missed out on a couple of BBs. Are the pro's and con's balanced? Player-dependent, maybe?

Not a good idea.
Limit is all about doing what's +EV, how could running out of money be accomplishing this? When I play live I always buyin for 25BBs with 25 more in my pocket. Once I get down to 10BBs I rebuy 10 more. I've never had to dig in my pocket for more than this, but Im guessing it's not the best idea.

There is no reason to ever be a short stack/all in in a limit cash game.

Some days it feels like I've been standing forever, waiting for the bank teller to return so I can cash in all these Sklansky Bucks.

Always keep 12bb+ on the table, thats the max you can ever spend on a single hand of LHE (assuming a cap).
