Ok lets say you have a hand like k/j suited in the co and only 1 limper has called the bb.You think for a sec and decide to raise to try and by the button and possible against hope of hope even get heads up with the limper. Instead the button and both blinds call your raise. Then the limper 3 bets. Well we ain't got the best hand but we're get like a gazillion to 1 odds so we call. Only to have the button cap. At this point we are commited to call. On the flop we hit a gut shot and back door flush draw nothing to be excited about but by this point the pot is huge. First to act bets you call and the button raises. Everyone calls back around to you. The turn no help and first to act once again raises. You think for a sec you'r geting more then enough odds to call but the pot could be raised again. You call anyway knowing that others will join you if it is. The river is a blank. so you fold. Now even though every call was correct by math you just lost all those bets because you were trying to get people out of the pot and just ended up starting a pf raising war and building a big pot. To make matters worse the button has j/3 suited.

I hear ya jibalob but this also brings up another discussion. Learn the habbits of your opponents. If someone acting behind you is a maniac then you are wasting your time trying to buy position . Also you can't value bet your draws as much.

If it's a cash game there is a really simple solution to difficult players with position on you. Find another seat or find another table. Fail that, tighten up until a seat opens up. Getting cash to flow upstream at the table is hard.

Thats true fnord but there is another way but it takes great skill that most just don't have. Now what you wanna do is get pocket kings and take most there stack as they will just keep betting. Now here is the tricky part. Get aces the next hand and take the the rest. lol
