Table was playing super tight, hence me calling with a fairly naff hand PF, then calling the minraise. All told tho, i think i played the hand horribly pretty much all the way down. Only been at the table for 40 hands, so main read on villain is that he tends to overvalue high hands, and bet when he doesn't even have a low hand potential, so it's possible my low is good here. Advice and criticisms welcomed on all streets (except maybe "fold preflop:P)...

Hmm, nut trips and 2nd nut low on the turn. I'd probably raise the turn? Then again I am an O8 donk.
Some days it feels like I've been standing forever, waiting for the bank teller to return so I can cash in all these Sklansky Bucks.

raise the turn.
as played, raise the river.

your hand is heaps good enough to play for stacks. remember we all get stacked, the idea is to get theirs more often than they get yours.

here villain needs to play all 4 cards in his hand to scoop you. You can't be afraid of 4 card holdings.

Wow, this is a helluva point and something I never realized. The odds of getting scooped in this spot are just so remote.

^^

Thanks,

one of the most important and little known concepts in mastering the game. I really should delete it in a couple of days.

Thanks for the feedback all. It's tricky knowing when my hand is good enough to be aggressive with in this game. I'm going to stick at it tho, so hopefully I'll get the hang of it

I do not understand what you mean by nut trips, since boats are possible, although not likely

Hero does not have the 2nd nut low A2,A3 and 23 are all better lows.

That is assuming there will be a low that hero can qualify with, which is not guarenteed.

You need to raisethe flop, you are ahead of most hands, 77 and 47 are possible but there are relatively few hands that contain them which are worth calling a raise preflop.

You need to thin out the field as there are a lot of cards that can fall on the river and complete a str8 or a better low

By nut trips, I mean we are beating all other 4xxx hands where he doesn't have a 2 or 7 to go along with it.

With the board 2447, nut low is A3xx, 2nd nut low is A5xx, 3rd nut low is 35xx. If the guy has a hand like A2QQ or 23KK, then he has no low at all on the turn.
