I'm thinking of playing the NL Omaha event in AC in March. This is probably a bad idea as I have no experience playing NLO but I'm going to take a shot as I figure the field will be smallish and filled mostly with HE players -- my experience in live games in the area is that there are few good Omaha players outside of the Russians in Brooklyn (Russians love PLO).

anyway, any hints/tips...discussion on situations where you'd play something differently than in PLO would be appreciated.
Playing big pots at small stakes.

I've never really been a fan of NL Omaha. It takes some of the finess/edge out of it, when you can shove out of position for multiples of the pot to shut out draws that would normally be able to float or draw with implied odds.

Advice? I guess play good aces (double suited, AA with two broadways) faster preflop and hope to win the near-freeroll when guys overbet shove their raggy AAxx.
Some days it feels like I've been standing forever, waiting for the bank teller to return so I can cash in all these Sklansky Bucks.

Doc gave me some advice for restealing spots, I was wondering, I guess we should play uber-tight in EP, since people can just overbet shove pre? I tend to play super tight from EP and almost never raise UTG at a full table.

NL Omaha Hi/Lo is more of a ace gambling game compared to PL Omaha Hi/Lo. Play is fast and the pots build up quick. Most of the players there are just trying to double up real quick and leave. You really never know with some plays if the player actually has something or is just trying to buy the pot with the big all in bet.
