I am new to fixed limit. I have developed a nice profitable NL game. And have a lot of confidence when playing NL. However the same is not true for fixed. I have played about 10,000 hands at 1-2 and 2-4. And although I am in the plus. I feel like I should be making more. There are two things I would like some feedback on.

1) I am in the BB with J8os. Player in early position raises. Another player calls and SB folds. Is the correct move here to lay the extra bet and call.

2) Please give me some feedback on playing small pairs from early position.

I would fold. you're getting 4.5-1 odds to call. that would, for me be enough vs 1 player. but you're facing 2, plus a raise from EP might easily be a high PP.
Vs only one player, barring the occasional high PP you're getting the right odds to call. Vs two players, your equity in the hand drops dramatically with such a marginal hand.
