2-7TD Limit, finished his chapter last night:
he says, in a Heads-up pot if we are IN POSITION and our opponent draws 1 and we draw 1 or 2 and improve to a bad 8 or even a 9 (I believe, not going to re-read) and villain leads we should just call, disguising our hand and perhaps forcing him to stay pat with a weaker hand.
He believes that this play guarantees us the pot, while raising might make villain break a worse hand, thus trying to pick up an extra bet could potentially cost us the pot. I have been raising any pat 8 here and sometimes pat 9s (if we both drew 1).
so, I play bad?

I assume you refer to 1 draw remaining
Case 1: Villian has a better hand - if you raise he may call or reraise, if he calls you just cost yourself an extra bet, if he reraises you call and probably break your hand, chances are you have cost yourself two bets
Case 2: Villian is behind and leads - if you call he will stand pat and lead again or if he checks you bet, so you get 2 bets, if you raise he calls he may break his hand and will not pay you off unless he improves, so you still get only 2 bets and may lose the pot.
The only case it works out for your advantage is if he calls with a worse hand and still stand pat, or if raising causes him to break a hand that has you beat, like a better 9

so what's the worst made hand we should raise here?
Also, flatting might not result in us winning bet on the end as villain who patted a T or bad 9 will probably c/f.

hard to tell, since you did not raise your pat hand he may put you on a relatively weak hand and may call with 9/T or even a J

Big difference here. If you drew 2 then he's betting his whole range most of which is way behind a pat 9. You have to raise because flat calling is missing too much value. If you drew 1 then he probably isn't betting into you without a pat hand.
