Lost 112$ yesterday at 2-4 session yesterday. I know its only 25BB which is common, but I am getting frustrated time to time. Good hands are far and between and when I do get something the river kills it. here are 2 sample hands.
1) QQ in UTG.
I raise, 4-5 people call.
Flop: 4-7-9
I bet, everyone calls.
Turn: 4-7-9-x
I bet, everyone except one folds.
River: 4-7-9-x-K
I bet, he calls. shows me K-10.
Question: was i stupid to bet the river. He couldve raised me. Also, usually Protecting the hand doesnt work because its MOST OF THE TIME checked to PFR and if you check, it could check around, giving everyone a free card and miss bets.
2) JQs limped in MP.
I raise sometimes in party from MP2 onwards but here i have lost my gut to raise these because i am specifically looking for 2 of my suit on board and not even J or Q. With that many players in every hand the chances of K or A falling prevents me from being confident on my J or Q.
Flop: 2-3-x 2 of my hearts.
checked to me, i bet, everyone calls (4 players)
Turn: 2-3-x-J
checked to me, I bet, 3 people call.
River: 2-3-x-J-4 missing my flush.
checked to me, I bet, UTG raises, I call. shows me A4.
OK, ENOUGH WHINE. I APOLOGISE . I just need some more advice.
1) If an overcard shows up at turn (A or K) to my broadway pair, is it time to check call or check fold assuming there is no backdoor draw (usually there isnt).
If there are 2 overcards, i am definitely folding. I made the mistake of going till the river 2 times with QQ and 1 time with JJ when there were A or a K on board (on flop or turn) and it was not even checked to me (PFR) but was being bet. TALK ABOUT TILT on my part.
In party I can lay them down more frequently because of multi-tabling but on b&M, i am taking them too far maybe (because of i am rarely playing and hard to lay them down on flop every time).
2) If there are 3 people in the hand and I have 4 to nutflush on flop and I dont get my flush card on the turn. Do I bet for value or check call.
a bit more specific question.
a) How many people in the hand there needs to be to make a value bet on the turn for my Four flush (not a flush yet on turn). Anything less i should be check calling right.
b) If its 2 people in the hand (so implied odds are not good), should I be folding my four flush on turn if it doesnt hit or still call the bet to see the river ??
I think these 2 cases are most commonly occuring and I want to get this one right. i think I am chasing my nutflushes too much (even when its HU though rare in b&M, or only 2 people in hand).
