Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (7 handed)

Preflop: Hero is SB with K, K.
UTG calls, MP1 raises, MP2 folds, CO calls, Button folds, Hero 3-bets, BB folds, UTG calls, MP1 calls, CO calls.

Flop: (13 SB) 3, 3, 5 (4 players)
Hero bets, UTG folds, MP1 raises, CO folds, Hero 3-bets, MP1 calls.

Turn: (9.50 BB) J (2 players)
Hero bets, MP1 calls.

River: (11.50 BB) 8 (2 players)
Hero bets, MP1 calls.

Final Pot: 13.50 BB

Preflop:
MP1 =Slight loose Aggressive, capable of raising 77 - AJ.
I re-raise, and he calls. That pretty much rules out AA.

Flop Paired board and a possible flush draw.. I'm more worried about UTG/CO than MP1. I'm expecting MP1 to have big cards, the other 2 limped and were was trapped between our raises.

I bet, UTG folds (good), MP1 raises, CO folds (thank you MP1).
Its 2 bet to me, I'm wondering if the guy would raise preflop with A3/55, time to find out. Re-raise, he calls. thats good for me but I'm not out of hot water yet.

Turn: J maybe he had AJ/ pocket jacks, if so I'd expect a re-raise here.
Bet/ call, ok the Jack didn't make his set. I still have every reason to believe my Cowboys are riding out.

River: 8.. Still worried about him hitting a set, but I'm not backing down to an 8.
What do you guys think?

Looks well played to me. If you lost to a set I didn't see it coming either.

With everything shown, it only makes sense for him to have a pair between 5 and K. But he is LAG......
Is that guy still part of the forum??

I gave him too much credit with 77..

He raised 66, and couldn't let the wired pair go

Well played. The flop 3-bet is the safe route. If you're feeling frisky, then call the flop raise and check/raise the turn.

You should at least start trying to figure out when you can get away with check/raising the flop to protect big pair hands. A simple bet doesn't do it often enough. Even if you whiff, it keeps the pot small allowing you to put down a strong protection bet on the turn.
