I’m soo pissed off right now I can't see straight I had to quit playing for the night completely, I dropped 55bb today and no I’m not joking, this has to have been the worst day that I have had in a long fucking time, looks as if I’m head back to fucking .5/1... I took my shot and it went like shit...

So You have never dropped 55+BB at 0,5/1,0..?
I've done this quite a few times. Only to come bak on a wierd session where I can cap 72off and flop a fullhouse etc. Poker has mad swings accept it.

Move this to Bad Beats forum. :P
Seriously though, bro, I know the swings suck, but you gotta keep your headspace straight. This post does nothing in that respect. You are still rolled for the limit you were at, so dropping down now is silly. If you drop 150bb+, then you can start worrying. Until then, keep playing good poker just like you did tonite and quit sweating the short term.

ha try having a negative 100 BB downswing at 2/4 ... painful to watch... eventually you make it back playing solid poker.

Yeah, I had a 100BB slide at 2/4 last night, it was pretty rough....the whole week has been bad. But when things go well and you have those +50, +100 BB days, that's when poker rocks. Just stick with it.

nope, maybe most was 30bb in one session, and maybe over 50 in a few days, but never in a single day... i also think that when bets get bigger the $$$ becomes more of an illusion to what how bad the swing really was, like 55bb at .5/1 ohh $55 at 1/2 $110 2/4 220 and so on, I just think the money to me made it seem a lot worse then it really was but just moving up to that level didn't help the matter much... it total can kill your confidence in yourself....

I hear you M8 regardless the ammounts of BB, in the end the loss is twice as big in terms of Dollars and in ammount of Bankroll.
Still I've had s lot of wierd swings also at 0,5/1,0 so I'm not going to get miserable until I hit -150BB. B/C thats what I've set aside for this so far.
I'm still playing 0,5/1,0 whenever I'm a bit too tired or confused to play the best.
I only play 1/2 when I feel ready adn confident and have sufficient ammount of time.

for reasons that have been discussed here before, 1/2 is a very hard game to beat. on top of the prohibitive rake, you are up against a bunch of shark wannabes who just graduated from the guppy pool and love to do nothing but check raise, check raise, check raise. on the other hand, they will fold a lot, thinking that's the most profitable play in poker, so they don't give you action on your good hands.
1/2 is kind of this bizarre hell between the fishy 0.50/1 and 2/4 levels. it is very unpleasant and hard to make money there. once you get up to 2/4, it's like coming out of a tunnel. things revert to normal and you do not run into as much of the wacky tight behavior.

1/2 guys is a cake walk. I dropped 70 BB last night at the 10/20 6 max table. Did I quit? Not at all. Later that night I played the 5/10 6 max table and won back 60 BB of if and nearly cut half my losses. Poker has mad swings to fanatic. You're a good player and don't let one bad swing turn you away.
You've probably got the skills to be playing the 3/6 table and in some locations the 5/10 table you just dont have the BR. Having a $100 swing is painful because in your mind you think that that is 100 BB at .5/1. Well, you just have to suck it up and keep going.

Thanks for the words of encouragement guys, I did drop back down to .5/1 at PokerNow to clear there bonus but after that's done I’ll give it another shoot and try not to look at the short term results... I’ll keep you all updated I’ll post my 5 k hands check up or something…

I just looked you up on PokerEdge. Your stats look pretty reasonable (16/9), but it looks like you might be taking some pretty marginal hands to showdown, but it's hard to tell without the full HH to tell the whole story. It also looks like you might just be taking some lumps (you flopped top pair and a flush draw with AQs and lost a big pot somehow). I think that if you keep at it you'll find yourself winning.
