I was doing a blind steal, then i thought he was full of shit. I have problems laying down hands in such cases. What do you think of my play. Horrible or just bad.

Too LAggy.

Don't cap pre-flop. You capped pre-flop and yet he still bet into you on that board, so raising is just chip spewing. You really would be hard pressed to come up with a much worse board for your hand.

4 gutshot outs that might be to a split pot
3 overcard outs that are very likely to a second best hand.

I would just peel one on the flop and fold the turn unimproved. If I was really studly that day I would just fold the flop.

My VPIP from my small sample is actually pretty good, but a lot of time i just have misplaced aggression. I am getting better at folding to turn raises but sometimes that voice in my head goes off. Trying to improve thank you for your help. What about the prf raise was that in THEORY a good thing to do?

A5s from the button is a good legit blind steal hand. It's just that from there you kept jamming as things kept getting worse.

.5/1 players neither play back at your nor fold enough for that line to have any merit.

Try not to include the outcome of the hand before people ahve a chance to respond.
Also any reads on the BB?

This probably is more of a mini-limit thing. I don't bother to steal the blinds in that game, they won't fold it often enough to be really successful.

During a 2 hour session you may be in position to steal the blinds that are folded to you once or twice. If it happens more than twice in a short period find a new table.

That out of the way..
Blind steal = good
Them coming back over the top of you = bad.

Given the 3 betting range of hands most people would play I would consider my hand in trouble on this flop.

When he comes back for 3 on the flop you can rest assured that your hand is no good.

You have Ace high, looking at a 4 card draw without odds.

Let it go..

Who says they ever need to fold for this play to be profitable? A5s is a pretty good hand 3-way and he has position. Throw in the fact these guys suck post-flop and not stealing here is throwing money away.

I guess when I think blind steal, I think more along the lines of the single preflop action and having them fold and not seeing a flop.

I never really thought blind stealing was really profitable in .5/1.. But when you bring up their poor post flop play it starts looking better.

It looks like I need to start thinking more big picture.
