If I were to face this same call 10 times would this be the best call most of the time. I really had a feeling with no read on either than my top pair top kicker was junked or do i need to call down the river for value even if i feel im most likely beat.

Stop playing 1/2. The rake structure for 2/4 is so much better on most sites.

I might find a river fold, but dang it's tough. Cold calling 2 on the turn then c/ring the river is a huge sign of strength or a completed flush draw.

Nice rake structure on the smaller games. At Party and Pacific it's darn near 10%. The only edge I see for the 2/4 is the $20 min and lower caps for short tables.
