recently i've completely moved up to 3/6. when i was playing 2/4, i never used PV or GT+, only because i didn't feel it was worth it. i tended to give too much credit to stats and it hurt my game.

moving up to 3/6, i feel i need PV and GT+ a lot more. not for the player stats, i'm still using my own read for those, but much more important is the table VPIP and table PFR. table selection is so much more important now that i will leave any table that drops under 20. using the PFR is helpful for loosening up earlier hand selection.

the most significant change i noticed, however, was the blind structure. when i wrote my shorthanded guide, Fnord criticised my lack of mentioning blind structure. when i wrote the guide, i had no experience at a blind structure other than 1/2, and it was eye opening playing in a 1/3 blind structure.

some changes i had to implement, who completes, and calling raises. any 2 suited doesn't apply anymore, and it's almost as if you will only play the same hands out of the blinds now.

calling raises is almost insta-muck now. you have $1 in the pot, and someone raises. you need to pay $5 to see the flop. it's literally almost the same as cold calling now.

what i was most impressed was, my instant adjustment. this is not a brag post, but i recommend all of you to think theory once in a while. understand the whys. the first time i faced a raise, i thought to myself..."wow that is not a good deal at all!...i fold" where at a 1/2 structure i would call without a second thought.

food for thought.

If you really want a mindfuck play in a 2/3 structure game.

Although consider that the SB in 3/6 is only a 50c discount over a standard 1/2 strucuture. I never did like any 2 s00ted anyway...

im going to continue with 2/4 for alot longer before i even attempt the 3/6 again... very scary.

perhaps just stay on 2/4 until i have a BR for 5/10

i'm curious why party would have a 1/3 and a 2/3 structure...i wonder what would happen if they switched it around...

3/6 would become the loosest game on the net, and 15/30 would probably become 15% VPIP table averages.
