I just wondered what your opinions are on the following:

I decided to move up to the 2.00/4.00 tables today. I am properly bankrolled for that level, i think (about 400-500 BB). The question mark is that I haven't proven myself to be a big winner at the 1.00/2.00 tables yet. In fact, over the last 25K hands i avg. about 0.38 BB/100.

I made the move because it is so much easier to clear bonuses at that level and the bonuses are really pushing my bankroll up very fast, despite being a break-even player.

My thinking is that I hope to be able to do as well (break even) at the higher level while collecting bonus and really working to get better?

What do you think? Fine to move up if you're rolled appropriately? Or bad move because you need to be able to beat 1/2 before moving to 2/4?

Thank you.

P.S. I am studying SSHE and Wheighing the Odds (the math doesn't bother me, as that was my major in college). I also read all of your posts on this site. And I hope to take advantage of fnord's coaching. That plus thousands of hands played is my strategy for getting better.

The 2/4 game is not much at all tougher than the 1/2 game most places, so if you are rolled for it and making a bit extra from bonuses, I can't think of any reason to not stay at 2/4 for quite a while and see how it goes.
