I have been working on many of the tips obtained here at FTR and doing considerable hand analysis to improve my "beginner" game. I'm starting to pick up momentum having plugged several leaks. Now that I'm feeling like I'm on a gradual upslope rather than a roller coaster, I want to start to think about assessing my game for the next level.
I don't have my exact stats with me at work, but here are some estimates:
VPIP: 16%
PFR: 9%
Aggression: F: 2.5, T: 3.7, R: 1.6
BB/100 is 2.5-3.
My obvious areas for improvement are my overall aggression, particularly on the river. This is costing me value, I know that.
My goal is to begin wading into full ring 2/4 next month, after playing another 10-12k hands at .5/1 and 1/2.
What adjustments should I be prepared to make in joining these games?
Thanks in advance for the advice.

My stats aren't much different than that...

Be ready for some (but not much) blind wars.
Make sure you have PokerTracker + PlayerView. You'll start to run into mutli-table rocks. Most are too mechanical to represent much of a threat, but it's key to pick them out.
Table & seat selection starts to make a bigger difference.
Welcome to the real deal!

Fnord, I asked this in another thread but it didn't get answered. WTF is PokerTracker and why should I get it? I play NL, usually SNGs and MTTs, but have dabbled in ring-games.
Thanks.

I have noticed that the players are looser preflop at 2/4 than 1/2, but are a little bit trickier to handle post-flop, but if you built a solid game at .5/1, you wont have any problems.

I saw that and thought for sure someone would answer you. It's basically a piece of software that scans your hand histories for performance. This info can be filtered by hole cards (like are you priftable with KQs?) and so on.
I don't have it, but will likely get it soon. If you've got the $50 at hand, it's worth checking out. Can find leaks etc.
Then again, part of me wonders whether it's a bad habit to get real used to it. It's not an advantage you have in live games, but then... who plays live games anymore?

In live games you have tells, etc. Also, building a solid core game transfers directly to live games. The pace is so slow I instinctivly know the ABC move and can focus more on the players, etc.

So you're THAT guy, LeFou? "Ahh, I *could* help, but I'm sure somebody else probably will, so I won't waste my time and I'll let them do it." LOL.
J/K
Thanks for the info, sounds like something that might be good for me.
Next question: Does it work for all poker sites, or just certain ones? Right now I have money tied up in PokerStars, Party Poker, and Empire...

Perfect for party/empire, cryptologic (intercasino), stars and some others. Go to the site http://www.pokertracker.com/ and see.
There is a fair amount of functionality...and a learning curve to using it effectively.
Bottom line, $50 was worth to effectively track my results, both for SNG's and cash games. As was stated, querying capabilities are pretty sweet to find leaks.

Screw you, Gabe....j/k.
In my later sessions (after learnings), this is the case. However, early on, I was VERY wimpy on the flop while being more aggressive on the turn. Probably because I was so loose, I was getting outkicked a lot, and this caused me to play timid on the flop (classic beginner reaction, I imagine?).
Lately, in addition to tightening up, I've been trying to attack more on the flop to take control of more hands, and probe for strength. Apparently, it's starting to save me money (tight + agg = g00t-ness).
Need more hands to learn to pick spots....
