Gamb00lPoker&SportsBook.com 5/10

Folded to HJ who open raises. HJ is kinda passive and only has $87. He has about $100 at the 10/20 table as well.

I 3-bet K Q from the CO.

Folded around, HJ caps, I call.

Heads up to the flop, $45 in the pot

A Q 2

He bets and I call.

$55 in the pot, turn is 5

Check, check.

River is J

Check, check

What can he possibly have here? Hope he has TT but he probably has something better. Not like the hand could have went any cheaper.

Why check behind the river? I'd bet... IMO it's too much of a risk to check TWICE if you have a set/straight (even if he rivered it)

What range do you put him on? Does he ever fold a better hand here?

Value bet the river as you are likely ahead. You need not worry about the checkraise and his line looks like TT (KK would too).

If his likely holdings are KK & TT, then I don't see the value in a river bet figuring that JJ might try to get cute or something like Ax might be spooked. Some players get really passive after they see me jam every street with middle pair.

Very unlikely, considering you didn't raise him on the flop had he been going for a strong checkraise on the turn he would have led the river, and if he had JJ he would have led the river. I think you really do have a good hand here more often than not given the image, he can have any small pocket pairs as well that may call if you bet.

What was your reason for checking behind the turn? I think you miss too much value here to not bet. You could even force villain to fold KQ or he may pay KJ trying to counter a bluff.
