Is it uncommon to be playing good poker and hit a losing streak that lasts up to 20,000 hands? Over my last 28,000 hands I show a profit of 900 dollars playing 1-2 9 player table. The problem is most of this profit came in my first 10,000 hands. Since my first 10,000 hands I am down about 100 dollars. I have been looking over my stats real close and I don’t see any big differences. I see some minor ones. What I see is I am a little more aggressive on the flop. A little less aggressive on the turn. And the same on the river and Preflop. Just curios as to what is normal as far winning and losing streaks? I am going to start to post some hands soon

It definately shouldn't be happening the majority of the time, but it definately will happen from time to time. You will also possibly hit breakeven stretches of 50,000, 100,000, or more hands while playing good poker if you play often enough. That said, the better of a player you are, the less often these things will happen.

what are your swings like? are your typical sessions always close to breakeven, or do you have two modest wins followed by a large loss?
if its the former perhaps you need to examine your tactics, ie small leaks that take away from your good plays. play in the blinds, cold calls, value betting etc
if its the latter there could be a problem with your strategic approach, especially emotional control, managing expectations etc.

I am running 0.8BB/100 over my last 10K hands at 2/4.
That is significantly less than I expect, and one bad day from being negative.
I have run -10BB/100 for over 2k hands before, and I have run >6BB/100 over 6k hands.
The concept of win rate is one you really need to distance yourself from.

To win in poker you only need to be one step ahead of your opponents. Two steps may be detrimental.

Thanks for the resposes. I didnt mention win rate. I have had two 500 hand sessions over my last 15,000 hands where I have had 35bb loses. I know I need to do a better job at value betting. And I am starting to think my blind play is the worst part of my game.
