Just something I noticed when looking through my PT database.

I was curious how the loose players winrates compared to the tight players database. This is all 5-max. I filtered the database for players with VPIP>40%, and then filtered it for VPIP<30%. To my surprise, both sets of players were losing at an almost identical rate. Was wonderin what some of y'all's databases say here. My sample size is a little small on the VPIP<30%.

Another thing I noticed, While most loose players are either extremely passive or too aggressive with raises preflop (many times more passive players than maniacal), almost every tight player is passive, with a pfr<5%.
Got me to thinking that the supertight/superpassive may be just as bad as the super loose player.

I've gotten to the point where the only players I don't want to butt heads with are the ones with VPIP between 25-40 and pfr between 15-25. If they aren't in that range, they suck at 5-max and don't know what they are doing. If there are 2 players at a table in this range, I'll leave unless they are both to my left. I don't think I've seen 10 players in that range with over 25 hands on them, out of about 1000 ... and one is Hyper.

I think someone a little tighter and/or a little less aggressive could also be a decent player 5-handed. While a 21/14, for example, might not be making the most 5-handed, they could very well be a winning player and a tough opponent.

This is a good point, and I was probably a little harsh saying everyone out of that range sucks. But everyone out of that range definitely has preflop weaknesses that can be exploited by proper position and play, no matter how good they are postflop. I find the players on the looser end outside of the range to be tougher opponents than on the tighter side. I'd rather be at a table with a strong 21/14 player than a strong 42/28 player. The 21/14 is just so much easier to play, and whether he is on my left, or on my right, I can win money, just not as much as a bad player.

I had some data here, but I realized I was including my own data in the numbers, which skewed a lot of values around my VP$IP. I'll redo it later without my numbers and post.

In that the other post mentions vpip and pfr, I guess it is similar, but then so are 1/4 of the post on here.
