Has anyone noticed that certin lower limits are a lot tougher than slightly higher limits ?
I find the $20 SnGs easier and looser than the $10 SnGs. Lately I'm also finding the 3/6 tables softer than the 2/4 tables. The 2/4 tables of late are complete Rock gardens and people picking up the blinds with a raise is common. The 3/6 however is regularly having 5-6 people to the flop!
I'm actually considering playing under-bankrolled slightly (230BBs) and reducing the Std Var by tightening up a little and playing the 3/6 games.
I've also been playing the $30 SnGs and I have seen no difference to the $20 SnGs. I will add however that the Limit SnGs are extremely soft, I'm regulaly ITM (80%) either 1st or 2nd. Still not sure if its a good run though, only played around 10.
Maybe we should start a "fish watch program", we all know where the fish go the sharks follow, but they scare off the fish (or bust them) so it would be profitable to pool info on what level/type of game has the most little fishies
I'll start within SnGs the PL and Limit SnGs seem very easy to beat at the $20/$30 level.
$1/$2 6max games have awful players, extremely easy money, but the variance is a proper bastard.
$2/$4 limit games are looking like rock gardens, maybe its because I play offpeak. Fnord whats your analysis ?
$3/$6 Are looking pretty weak, less raiseing more limping than the 2/4 equivelent.
Of course you need to be a good SnG player or a good Limit player to take advantage of this.
Omaha hi/lo SnGs, I'm sure just sticking to tight starting hands it would be possible to finish ITM >80% with these, people see around 70% of the flops!!! Un-confirmed though, i need to spend some time seeing how easy these are, not many games going off peak though.
Anyway's feel free to add or refute these games/limits.

i think you're pretty special to, hoasty!
i'll agree on no difference between the $20 and $30 NL SNG's on party.
i've been watching the 2/4 and 3/6 omaha hi/lo limit games, and really see no difference between those and the 1/2 game - >= 50% seeing the flop and very little preflop raising. there are also a lot more tables to choose from compared to the 1/2 level.

I'm in no position to be commenting about SnGs, but as far as limit ring games go, i do somewhat agree with Toast. I play 2/4 but mostly 3/6 10handed games at UB and had quite success at those tables. I do agree that players at 3/6 tables are easier to beat, but i don't really see that much difference in them. I think both tables see on average about 30 to 40% flop. At 3/6, one thing i've noticed is that they often fold to reraise. 3betting at 2/4 hasn't really worked out for me. I've been concentrating at improving my SnG gameplan, i haven't played limit for about week. I used to average anywhere between 3 to 4 BB per hour at 3/6 tables, so guess i wasn't doing too terribly at those tables. If i can beat those tables, i know for a fact there are many here who can kick ass at 3/6 UB.

Here's a theory.
Most casinos offer 3/6 (at least in Kansas City do) so could it be that people who go to live casinos (fish and sharks alike) go to 3/6 games because they are more comfortable there?
Just a theory.

I don't know what they have to say
It makes no difference anyway.
Whatever it is...
I'm against it.
