hey, just a quick question.. The casino in the city i live only play LHE and PL - 5/10 limit with $100 min buyin and up to 10/20 and for the PL games it is $1000 minbuyin which is too much for me...The casino charges $1 rake from every player every hand even if u fold preflop, basically what i wanna know is if i were to play 5/10 LHE would i be getting ripped off hardcore by the rake?

compared to online yea lol, but 5/10 is about the first one you can beat the rake at live assuming rake is capped at $5

That rake cannot be correct. You are saying for example, that for a 10 person table the house is making a minimum of $10 A HAND and at 30-40 hands per hour, not counting tip, is pulling in a minimum of $300-400 per hour per table?

This is the typical rake in some of the cardrooms in Australia.

No, I do not think that it is beatable.
To win in poker you only need to be one step ahead of your opponents. Two steps may be detrimental.

KoRnholio will become famous soon enough
$1 rake per person per hand is unbelievable. That's $100 for 100 hands.. meaning at 10/20 you need to make back 5bb/100 hands just to break even.

At the live casinos around here, the rake is usually $5 max (+$1 for the bad beat jackpot) even at 3/6 LHE. It sucks and I'm not sure how beatable that game is in the long run, even when the players are so horrible.
Some days it feels like I've been standing forever, waiting for the bank teller to return so I can cash in all these Sklansky Bucks.
