Having trouble with these types of plays from opps.
I raise preflop with a top holding.
Flop comes and UTG bets into me.
I have been reraising even if I missed the flop. I believe Sklansky
advocates this to try to take back control of the hand.
Problem is I have found the UTGs either call me down or continue raising.
At these stakes this usually means that they hit the flop and not just making a move, even if it is with a marginal holding like Q,10 etc.
Lately I have been just calling his bet and dumping on the turn if I don't improve. I know I can't do this all the time cause everyone might start taking shots at me.
If I have a draw to go with my holdings I will judge my odds and call it down or raise if I have enough outs.
I know this is a vague question and there are alot of other things to consider but any advise is apprieciated.

A few thoughts on your post:
It would be good to know what limit you're playing.
OK, onto this topic. Recently I have started to semibluff donk out a lot of flops when UTG against a PFR. I read an article, dont have the link on me, anazlying the donk and it does not have to be too successful to be profitable, something like 1 in 4 times I need you to lay your hand down. I am not saying your opponents are pulling this on you, but it has really been working for me.
As far as your question goes, the donk usually means TPWK, I see it all the time, ppl love to put you on a big ace, and not a big pair. However, your idea of raising here to take back control of the hand is another topic to discuss. In position I truly like raising the TURN not the flop. This does three things for me:
1: it typically gets me a free showdown with AK/AQ that bricked
2: a turn raise is much more powerful, its a full BB and typically players wont raise the turn w/out much
3: I can raise for more on the turn if I hit my hand than I would on the flop to see a free card. The turn raise costs you 2.5BB if you call the flop raise the turn and check the river. It can win you 3.5BB if you call the flop raise the turn, hit your card and lead the river. Therefore I think you make more when you win and lose less when you lose.
It's all dependent on if you want to see a showdown with AK or not.
Against a TAG Id probably call the flop and fold the turn if led at

Not enough info. Your play will depend on the texture of the board and your reads on your opponent.
