Aight...so there's this 50$ online satellite(1 seat, about 25 entrants) to a 1000$ live limit tourney in my country and someone offered to pay half my buy-in just to convince me to come, so I said I would. Now, I have next to NO experience in limit tournaments. I've played good .5/1 ring so far and have just moved up to 1/2$ which I'm confident I can tackle, however I've only once played a LHE tourney on a crap site against really crappy players. Could you guys PLEASE give me some much needed advice? Cheers!

Play it just like you would a regular full ring cash game. Don't force anything, count your outs, play your odds. Tightness is godliness.

As players start to drop out, the aggressive players will be winners. Loosen your starting hand requirements as less people are around to see the flop. Be the aggressive guy, but know when to back off.

Pay close attention to who can be pushed around. If you find just one guy who you can bully, you'll pick up a lot of chips.

Thanks for the advice. My impression was that tournaments are much different than ring because of the increasing blinds and that you can't just play the TAG hands you would normally.

Against some players, you will have to be the tag, others you can lag around a little... there are the rare where laggy is the best

I just played a normal tight aggressive game. People are not very good in these so your most likely gonna get paid off, sometimes a little too well.

Just played a $5+1 limit tourney at party and I have to say you pretty much need some luck. Seeing as the 5+1 players are total mongs (a lot of them, not all), you can't C-BET an AK on a missed flop, you can't bluff anyone off a pot, and if your cards don't hit you're toast. Also, if you lose a pot it's hard to get back since you can't just press all-in when you get AA and double up...doubling up is bloody hard.

My $20+2 was the same way. C-bet doesnt work there.

Also, how does stealing work in LHE tournies? NL blind stealing is an easy 3xBB bet and go from there...what about LHE tourneys?

Also its not going to be folded around to you very many times. So stealing is generally not even applicable untill the very later stages of the MTT.
