I signed up for a sat into a 55$ sat into the limit FTOPS event by accident and won the seat. I was hoping some of you could review my play since i have only played limit 4-5 times.

I am a successful NL player and have had big cashes, but havent really played limit at all, so i will need some help
For example, I was also wondering what is the best way to play short stacked <10BB and other situations or general guidelines on how limit play differs from NL play. Some links to good posts as well as advice are very appreciated.

Good question - I generally suck at Limit tourneys, though they can be fun. There are a lot of very lousy players in a typical Limit The play early in the tournament is a lot more like a cash game than in a NL tourney - you can limp in speculative hands preflop without some maniac going all in and forcing you to fold.
Bluffing has less value in Limit tourneys, especially in the early stages. Later on I suspect it becomes a lot more important, but later on I suck and tend to spike on the bubble, so I'm not the person to ask.

When it comes to limit tourneys, you pretty much have to be a perfect post flop player, with a willingness to be aggressive when you have an equity edge, tournament status be damned.
Mostly, because if you're way ahead in a limit tournament, the blinds equalize you much more quickly than in an NL tournament. Especially if you catch a dry run of cards.
I honestly think that fostering a loose/gambooooolers image out of the blinds, and tightening up to premiums in early and middle sprinkling in low PP and SC' From CO and on will really help.
Remember, implied odds in Limit are not NEARLY as high in NL. You simply can't call JTs against an UTG raiser from the Button. You need at LEAST 2 other callers between to even make the call equitable.Never flatcall a PP withOUT at least 3 other players in...
As for being shortstacked? I have no idea other than to do everything you can to try to get yourself to 1 opponent to give yourself the best odds.
I'm going to go out on a limb, and say that perfect blind stealing play will take you a lot farther in Limit than in NL.

The older I get, the more I start wondering; Just what in the hell is going on here?

Theyre a waste. of. time. Turns into a "whose hole cards hold up last will win" game.

Somewhat true. But it's nearly the same in NL tournaments in the end stages, unless you have a big stack, when it's push or fold preflop always.
Limit tournies are a bit worse for that though, since there really isn't a good way to build a stack without getting the cards. The early blind levels in a LHE tourny mean nearly nothing. In NL the early levels can be used to acquire a big stack and then bully people out of pots to keep that stack. IMO that's the only real difference.

Some days it feels like I've been standing forever, waiting for the bank teller to return so I can cash in all these Sklansky Bucks.
