*bump* and I'll keep bumping until you fish stop check/calling monsters against players that play too many hands and call too darn much.

So I take it you were insulted to be called down all the way to the river? I'm not understanding your post. A little enlightenment, my dyslexia is kicking in. :P

People keep posting monster hands that they slow play. Fnord is saying there is absolutly no need to slow play in LLHE as they will call/raise you down with worse hands anyway.

And I agree. (Well that's what I think he's saying.)

He's bumping it because I posted a flopped Quad King hand and Checked the flop in early position.

Funny thing about his flopped monster, there were no preflop raises, also another player has a big pice of this flop and rivered an even bigger piece.

Of course it went throught the roof, it finished full boat over full boat.

You played it straight forward, he played it poorly. His bad play actually saved him 1/2 bet.

He didn't slow play a monster and you caught up to him. You both flopped it and he caught up.

But your point is you'll get action regardless of what you do. Of course you'll get action if you opponent flops trips.

i'll agree with fnord on fast versus slow at these lower limits. i suck at limit, yet basically ran over this table for a half an hour until it broke up. i've never seen so much check/limping, and then calling a bet or two bet.

i don't think they liked me!

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: fishstick is MP1 with K, J.
UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 calls, fishstick raises, MP2 folds, MP3 calls, CO folds, Button calls, SB folds, BB folds, UTG calls, UTG+1 folds, UTG+2 calls.

Flop: (12.50 SB) 8, 9, T (5 players)
UTG checks, UTG+2 checks, fishstick bets, MP3 calls, Button raises, UTG calls, UTG+2 folds, fishstick calls, MP3 calls.

Turn: (10.25 BB) Q (4 players)
UTG checks, fishstick bets, MP3 calls, Button raises, UTG folds, fishstick 3-bets, MP3 folds, Button calls.

River: (17.25 BB) 4 (2 players)
fishstick bets, Button calls.

Final Pot: 19.25 BB

Results in white below:
fishstick has Kh Jh (straight, king high).
Button has Jc Js (straight, queen high).
Outcome: fishstick wins 19.25 BB.
i hate what i have become to escape what i hated being...

It.... just.... brings a tear to my eye....

Very well played!

edit: As a side note, someone on 2+2 pointed out that after turning the nuts betting out and then 3-betting is tricky, where-as check/raising is straight forward.

Advice taken to heart, results: FNORD IS RIGHT

I was raising the whole way down hoping for the boat, but as it turns out I didnt need it. They will raise into you with nothing, and another one will call, when stuck in a raising war, with a mediocre hand/draw. Fun stuff!

Should I have raised on the river as well? I think not becasue with two in there and 4 to a straight on the board, I can easily be beaten. I wasnt to worried about the backdoor flush.
