OK I meant to ask this in another thread sometime, but how the F*** are there players this bad??? I mean I had a couple runs of horrible play before I actually tried to get better, but there just seems to be a never ending stream of these awful players.

With all the websites like this and all the books out there, I'm just shocked that players still play like morons.

Whatever it is, it's good for business.

I think I should write a poker book. It will have strategies like:

You want to see every flop, because you never know when you will flop four of a kind!

Call down with any pair, other players are usually bluffing.

I'd say there are 3 types of players:

pros - some make a living or add a substantial amount to their incomes

intermediate players - play regularly, but never accumilate much or have losing tendencies

pleasure players - play seldom enough that it is purely recreation. These guys are your producers in games, and you should do everything in your power to make them feel welcome and have a good time, because you will most likely end up with their money.

I took $500 off a guy playing 5/10 6 max. One hand in particular I open-limp T9s on the button, he raises from the BB (2 cards.) Flop is 2 pair and I either turned or rivered a boat. Capitty cap cap all the way.

any reason for the open limp, other than you wanting him to gamble with you when you have a pretty good hand?

I agree with this and it always pisses me off when a moron wins the hand, and a decent player complains to him or calls him names or tells him that he shouldn't have called for whatever reason. What are you stupid? You want these morons playing with you...

I ruled out raising and folding, hence I had to call.
