Can anyone give me advice on the best way to play KK in Omaha? Are we always just playing for set value, even if it's double suited?
What about hi/lo? KK23 should be a decent hand, but it's fraught with difficulty, and we're at best looking to split a pot.

no, I think KK has more than set value, but it needs to be somewhat coordinated.
KK as an overpair + something else is often a feltable hand depending on the circumstances. KKJ9 plays just fine against a QQ74!
As for KK23, it looks really good, but it really doesn't play as well as you expect. It's just not very coordinated, and if rainbow, it's hard to find a way for the 23 and the KK to work together. If the board is A58, sure your hand is pretty good, but you can never know whether you're getting crushed by an A23 or if your quartering the 235Q. But even in the second case, you're not by any means home safe for the high!
The 23 does give you some value when you hit the K though. obviously AK5 is jackpot, but even K75 is pretty good. Against an A247 or something that decides to play with you, the 23 takes away some of their outs (the aces), and works as a blocker for you.
If even one of the K is suited, it's a lot better too.

don't think of 23KK as a low hand with good sidecards (like 2345 or 2346), and don't think of it as a two way hand. Think of it as a KK hand (which is often playable just for set value in many situations) with a little something extra.

a "naked" KKxx hand has plenty of value, some for meta game, but I don't think i'd EVER felt it post flop unimproved. I'm limping behind with it often pre to try and overset people. I'm also open raising it when I have the chance and try and out play someone post flop.
I would think that KK23 qualifies as marginal at best in O/8.
You are going to make ALOT of 2nd best hands, with poor chances at winning the high or low, and very little chance of scooping which is the ultimate goal of O/8. It a hand with no strong redraws to the nuts.

So, you face a raise with KKxx, there is one caller, what's your play?
Assuming you call, then someone bets the flop (lets say it's Q high rainbow) what's your move?
I'm relatively new at omaha (hence maybe stupid questions) but I'm finiding myself in this type of situation a lot.

Yes, i'm calling preflop even for set odds, because flopping a big set can be very profitable.
On a Q high flop, without a read.
If they bet out i'm most likely just folding it. yes, it can be considered a bit weak, you may have the best hand on the flop, but the turn can change the EV completely.
I'm certainly not stacking with KKxx unimproved .
