MP3 is a 2+2er (the donk reference gives him away), but I'm not sure who. Been chatting with him and he says he's running 10 tables.

He's playing really tight/aggro.

FWIW, I'm up $100 vs this guy...

Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (9 handed) converter

Preflop: Fnord is SB with K, J.
4 folds, MP3 raises, 2 folds, Fnord 3-bets, 1 fold, MP3 caps, Fnord calls.

Flop: (9 SB) 7, 8, 4 (2 players)
Fnord checks, MP3 bets, Fnord calls.

Turn: (5.50 BB) Q (2 players)
Fnord checks, MP3 bets, Fnord calls.

River: (7.50 BB) Q (2 players)
Fnord checks, MP3 bets, Fnord raises...

One question Fnord...Why did you 3-bet on a 2-way pot out of position with KJs?

Because this guy knows how to fold a hand. If I had known it was cnfuzzd, I would have been more inclined to just cold donk.

Button is a random 2+2er (??? maybe fish), BB is cnfuzzd, table is about half 2+2ers and we're chatting it up.

Party Poker 3/6 Hold'em (9 handed) converter

Preflop: Fnord is CO with Q, T.
5 folds, Fnord raises, Button 3-bets, 2 folds, Fnord calls.

Flop: (7.33 SB) 7, 3, T (2 players)
Fnord checks, Button bets, Fnord calls.

Turn: (4.66 BB) 5 (2 players)
Fnord checks, Button bets, Fnord calls.

River: (6.66 BB) T (2 players)
Fnord bets, Button raises, Fnord 3-bets, Button calls.

Final Pot: 12.66 BB

Results in white below:
Fnord has Qd Td (three of a kind, tens).
Button has 7c 4c (two pair, tens and sevens).
Outcome: Fnord wins 12.66 BB.

I'm not so much slow playing as min-maxing against a 3-bet. When someone 3-bets you over 95% of the time they're betting the flop + turn without resistance and they will go to showdown almost always, so I see no point in playing back with a pair of tens.

The problem is that AA/KK/QQ will be more than happy to get into a chip tossing contest with me, and at best AK *might* play back at me on the flop but if I show resistance AK might back off on the turn. So I often just check+call until the river then pick a line (unless I make a strong hand on the turn, then I might make a move.)

When you raise 13% pre-flop you run into this a lot and this line has been working well for me. If I catch a piece I quietly draw and make them show me a hand when I have showdown value. I figure even if I'm getting the worst of it, there is enough value between pot size and table image.

You make a very interesting point...I hadn't ever really thought about not firing back to see if my pair is good heading into the turn with a flush draw on the table. I see where you are coming from with minimizing chip loss here by not allowing yourself to be raised untill you can be of better mind to win the hand. I usually like to c/r here to make my opp think about chasing...of course a 2+2er is going to chase with proper pot odds and may even re-raise you to check your stones (especially with the draw he did have). The only problem I have is that most players have a major tendency to draw as cheap as possible and will cold call the c/r with any sort of draw. i dont know...this hand confuses me now...i think I better lie down

2 outs - set
3 outs - 2pr
9 outs - flush

14 outs = 51.2% according to FTR's outs chart...your opp's outs to win
hmmmmmmm

Heads-up to the flop my opponent will rarely be on a flush draw with 2 on the board.
