havent been playing to long at the table so dont know anything about the guy. i think this was a bad play and that i probly couldnt buy it on the river with a bet but i tried anyway. should i be calling/ checking down to hit straight?
advice would be great.

I assume you raised the flop for a free card. Take it. Don't semi bluff the turn, and check/fold the river.
