If UTG hadn't limped the BB would have played fine pre-flop.
Post-flop you should have bet out (as you're expected to as the pre-flop aggressor.) BB capping the river was silly, by then he had to have figured out that trip Aces no-kicker were likely beat or tied.

it's funny how both me and the BB were thinking of doing the exact same thing, only i had the goods.
i didn't bet out on the flop to try and induce bluffs from my opponents. if i bet out UTG might have folded (judging from the turn fold he's probably capable of laydowns), i tapped an extra 2BB from him on the turn.

Meh, in the Party 5/10 game I expect a wide range of worse hands to raise me on the flop and lead the turn. Also, I consider a bet on the flop to be a balance issue. If I consistantly check with a strong hand a strong player can play back at me when I take a stab at a scary flop. Then again maybe I'm giving them too much credit...

I agree with Fnord. Betting out on the turn really would be the only thing Id change about how you played this. You did suck another 2 BB out of him, but you risked giving up a free card which I think would cost you more in the long run (enough where 2BB isnt enough overlay to save you ).
As the preflop raiser, I really think you need to keep that image of aggression to keep the players always guessing. Every time they change their game to suit what they think youre doing at any given moment, you are benefiting from that. Sometimes I waste bets on the river without a made hand, every so often, just to make people think Ill bet with anything. Im sure im preaching to the choir here .
But other than my disagreement with the flop play... you played the hand nicely (even with the scary Q).

You scare too easily, even for full table.
Trips strong kicker is good for a flop + turn cap. After that I'll think about slowing down depending on my opposition.

you're right that giving the free card is dangerous. every time you do that you need to ask yourself whether it's worth the risk of losing the entire pot, to win an extra couple bets.
i was very worried during the turn and the river that they might hold A8 or A7, because these people play those hands even against a raise. 88 or 77 and i'm in deep shit.
