This is a fairly bad hand, is it not? No straight or flush possibilities and I see you getting in a lot of trouble if you flop a King with this so-so kicker. If I'm UTG I fold this every time. Yesterday I see some guy go in with it UTG, he flops K 8 x and busts the little old lady with pocket AAs. The little old lady had pocket AAs twice in 5 hands, both times no good.

Horrible hand. Never play it in a full ring game unless you look at the flop for free. You have the correct reasoning, too. You can't feel good when you hit your king, and you will only flop 2 pair a small percentage of the time. Even at that, 2 pair is a hand that can be busted pretty easily....and sometimes you can have the board pair up (i.e K8TTx) and then you lose your pot to KJ, KQ....you get the picture....

The only time I play K8 is to steal the blinds in a tourney (can be done with any hand though) or when it is 2 or 3 handed.
