Hand 1: I'm not a fan of cold calling with ATs, but everything else looks fine.

Hand 2: I think this is a situation where any A or J is going to call the river bet for sure. This means that the only hands that are going to fold are almost certainly hands worse than yours, so you might as well just check it down.

I disagree. This is a situation where any A or J should call the river. I have come across too many weak fish that will call to the river with second pair, then drop it for one bet if they don't imporove. I like the bet, since a worse hand will fold and I don't have t oshow that i have been betting with 88, a better hand will call, and I get to show that i have been betting with 88. A river check is a little weak, IMO.

Given no read facing an UTG raisor you are dominated here more than 50% of the time. I only cold call here with two others before me on a very loose table. I hope you see why. Cold-calling is bad, simply put. You really need more than the Preflop raisor in the pot. If you don't believe us then do the math yourself.

Hand 2: I agree with Nehmer here. More often than not you are only getting called by a better hand. Checking behind may be weak but do the math here, even if you are head 50% of the time you lose, because the times you are way behind you will get check raised and you'll be forced to call.

Hand 1: Nice float.
Hand 2: I think you bet the best hand on the river. I check behind too.
