Yes.
What makes you think it wouldn't be?

Well, sometimes it feels like I'm too mechanical in the pattern "check, check, check, bet, call, call, call." OTOH it looks to me like their betting is the mechanical and not mine. Naturally I get burned doing that sometimes when someone is slowplaying a big pair (for god knows what reason), and it works sometimes, and it *seems* like it works more often than it fails.
Where I have more trouble is if an overcard falls, such as a Queen in place of the Ten on the flop or the turn. Some of these folks seem so timid so here I am betting my Jacks while they don't dare bet their Queens or small two pair. I don't get a warning to bail out before investing two big bets.
Thanks Fnord & D.D.

Glad our advice is useful to you HTL. Fnord, Eupho and Elipse et al. have all helped my play a LOT so it's only fair i should try to help others when i can. You have to find your own way eventually but listening to advice from more experienced players is always worthwhile. FTR is a GREAT site where you can get constructive opinons that aren't condescending or arrogant, and everyone here really deserve our thanks (DO hope you're reading this guys!). Practically everyone who posts here handles debate and differences of opinion with tact and respect.
Regarding your other pont, it is tricky when an overcard comes to your PP and you have multiple opponents. In general if i'm going to bet middle pair in the first place then i just keep betting until someone raises, then stop and think. Only exception is when an Ace flops with a lot of loose players who will play any Ace. In that case I'm tempted to check/fold the flop.

Very true. You can almost 100% assume that if an ace was dealt, it is in the hand at least until the flop. I'm way more willing to bet my TT-QQ into an overcard that isn't an ace.
Of course, that is nicely balanced off against the extreme likelihood that the ace rag person will bet very hard with top pair no kicker against your flopped set when it happens.

just think, if you are beaten then hasn't it been nice to see the river fairly cheaply? rather than having to make difficult decisions on whether or not to fold your overpair. I like weak-passive-stations - just don't try to bluff them

I know better than to try to bluff a calling station...which doesn't explain why I tried it last night, and--worse still--out of position. "What was I thinking???" I guess I *should* have been drinking!
