this is a hand i played earlier today, the table was full and dropped to 6.

Party Poker 2/4 Hold'em (6 handed) converter

UTG and BB are loose passive with vpip 40%
Preflop: Hero is SB with J, J.
UTG calls, MP folds, CO folds, Button folds, Hero raises, BB calls, UTG calls.

flop is ok without position i like to lead here.
Flop: (6 SB) 6, 9, 3 (3 players)
Hero bets, BB calls, UTG calls.

Dont like this card but I have to bet it because any a or k diamond would check behind me

Turn: (4.50 BB) T (3 players)
Hero bets, BB folds, UTG calls.

yet another crappy card but my feeling is that he was on a diamond draw.

River: (6.50 BB) K (2 players)
Hero bets, UTG calls.

Final Pot: 8.50 BB

What would you do on the river here? I thought it was a value bet because any ace high will most likely call and he could have a 10 or a 9.
I see a lot of advice to check certain rivers. With this opponent i thought it was a clear vb. Thoughts?

HU, out of position i'm tempted to check / call the river and hope to induce a bluff from a weaker hand rather than open myself up to a raise.

But now that i'm trying to be more aggressive, I bet the river.

That play works well and if i think i have a good chance to be behind I would check call.

Too close to fret about. I might check not so much to draw a bluff, but in hopes a better hand checks behind.
