...but this hand sure showcases some of the thinner ones.

Am I doing the right thing at any point here? I think I managed to get the turn right at least....

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (10 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

Preflop: Hero is Button with 6, 9. CO posts a blind of $0.50.
1 fold, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 calls, 1 fold, MP2 calls, MP3 calls, CO (poster) checks, Hero calls, SB completes, BB checks.

Flop: (8 SB) 3, 4, 3 (8 players)
SB checks, BB bets, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 calls, MP2 calls, MP3 folds, CO folds, Hero calls, SB folds.

Turn: (6.50 BB) 6 (5 players)
BB bets, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 calls, MP2 folds, Hero calls.

River: (10.50 BB) 8 (4 players)
BB checks, UTG+1 checks, UTG+2 checks, Hero checks.

Final Pot: 10.50 BB
TylerK: its just gambling if i want to worry about money i'll go to work lol

I like your play on all streets. Flop call is a thin one though.

if you're gonna call the flop, you have to raise the turn when you hit your hand

I like a turn raise because he might get overs (or even a better hand) to incorrectly fold to the represented "wait for the turn" play. It's a big pot, he's got to put in the extra bet to win. It also sets up a potential free showdown if he wants to go there.

Anyway...

Things play out differently if I hit my low top pair, bad kicker and it goes "BB bets, UTG+1 folds, UTG+2 folds, MP2 folds..."

Once BB fails to slow down on the turn and there are two callers in front of me, I have to think there's a good chance I have to improve to win. No?

Yes. Bad players make bad folds too. They don't have to do it very often for your raise to have value...
