CD Poker Ossian 0.25/0.50, hand converted by the iPoker Converter at Talking-Poker

saw flop | saw showdown
Button Button ($15.52)
SB ($12.65)
BB Hero ($19.57)
UTG ($29.52)
UTG+1 ($5.45)
MP Villain ($12.43)
MP ($7.35)
MP MP ($10.40)
CO-1 ($20.77)
CO ($8.03)

Preflop: Hero is in the BB with 6d 8h
2 folds, Villain calls 0.25, 1 fold, MP calls 0.25, 2 folds, Button calls 0.25, 1 fold, Hero checks.
Flop (1.10) 5h 6s 7d
Hero bets 0.25, Villain calls 0.25, MP calls 0.25, 1 fold.
Turn (1.85) 6h
Hero bets 0.50, Villain calls 0.50, 1 fold.
River (2.85) 3d
Hero bets 0.50, Villain raises to 1, Hero ???

No numbers on Villain as I was playing on my laptop and don't have PT on it. I had been at the same table with him for around 2 hours. He played very passive often calling all the way to the river with a set. Without numbers I would guess he was in about 75% of the hands. River raise was very unordinary.

Villains range:
all PP suited A's and K's, Broadways, most suited connectors.

you only need to be good 1 time in 8 to break even (might be 1 in 9 i don't know) on your call... so if you think there is even the slight chance your trips are good it's an easy call...

You are so toast here it's not even funny. I wouldn't even think of calling this unless i had a specific read that villian is capable of bluffing this board. Otherwise, puke-fold.

I know my ability to put opps on hand ranges isn't the best. But in this situation what are you putting the villain on. Straight, fullhouse?

littleogre has a little shameless behaviour in the past
with 8-1 i lean towards folding. Now if it was 10-1 or more then maybe we can think about calling. On the other hand i hate folding on the river for one more but but would likely begrudgeingly throw this one a away. In general i play pretty tight when the board is showing 4 to a str8 or flush. I guess we could call and hope our opponent was makeing a play that i see sometimes. Where a person with an over pair who thinks you are bluffing a paired board but who also thinks you will fold if they raise the flop or turn will let you bluff into them on the flop and turn then on the river they will say hey i will raise now because i have my opponent traped into a big pot. I'm not saying that is the smartest way to play but people do it. Heck i've been known to do it myself versus a bluffington

You've been betting the whole way, so he knows you at least have a pair here and could well have made a straight on the river. At the very least I would imagine he has A6, otherwise A4, 44, or a FH.

5.85:1 - given his passivity, you're looking at a straight, and the pot is small enough that you can afford to lay it down for one bet. If the pot were larger a call would be mandatory. [I would be tempted to call to make a note, but I think that's a rationalization of being reluctant to give up on my trips.]
Oh, no! Not another learning experience!

Since I've been too busy to play much lately or even check FTR out I finally have the chance.

I agree with the bigger pot it would be an easy call.

But as to the actual hand. I called and he turned over KK. Definitely not the way to play pocket KK's in my book.

Ditto on littleogre post...it's just not worth it against a tight player. I put him/her/it on a boat.
