I like it. The pot is so silly big, you might as well pop it and hope to clean up your 3 Ace outs.

Whoops...

Oh well, I read the example in the book there's a good explanation of the hand.

Guess this thread is fairly pointless.

Even though SSH would say so, I'm cold calling and not capping here. The pot isnt that big and with the MPs out of there I'd much rather call. Unless you are able to get your free card on the turn but if you are capped you are increasing your variance.

you also have a backdoor flush to the nuts, your buying more outs if a club hits on the turn.

12sb not big? It's big, but not crazy out of control.

You're paying .5-1BB (minus equity and you have a fair amount here) to try for a free card and hopefully get a hand like AJo to fold for 3 more outs. Well worth it.

Paying a SB for the possibility of 3 more outs or a free card in a 16SB pot is a good price in my opinion.

I think either you'll get a free card or SB will fold a dominating Ace more than often enough for this to be +EV.

It looks fairly standard now but when I first saw it I was thinking 'WTF?'.
