Would you have bet the river or just checked?

I had the guy that capped me preflop on maybe trips at best but he didn't bet the turn he checked and he didn't raise the when i bet so trip went out the window, if i raised called most players would bet out into me with trips there, even if they are passive, you figure to get paid off for max amount...

Would you have raised preflop?

i'll let you know the out come after i get some feed back...

I wouldn't have raised pre-flop. In fact, I think I would have played this pretty much the way that you did.

Raise for value preflop. They'll call, thats what they do.

Flop: Good
Turn: Good
River: Bet out here, fold if reraised.

Cant believe he capped the flop with a draw to a weak flush. Hard hand to lose.
Superb play sir...I always call 20% of my stack off with a gutshot draw. Excuse me while I race for my wallet.

I dont think there is much you can do here. You cant bet the river, it completes a bunch of draws. 75s capping the flop there is not necessarily a bad play, his flush will come in 35% of the time, and hes got customers. Plus, he can usually count on implied odds of making his flush. Had a diamond other than one to put 4 to a straight on the table come, you probably would have bet, and he would have raised. When he misses his flush by the river, he folds. I think you benefited here by him checking this river. The K is too scary, he should have known that and bet out. I figure you saved a 2BB here. Bad "no-lead" by the villan. Nice Check by you.
