I was able to scrounge some free money to play at True Poker (see my post in the Online Poker Rooms forum) and was playing their lowest limit tables (1/2). What I noticed was I was getting some HUGE swings. I'd be up close to 100 dollars then, in less than a half hour, back down to 30 or 40. Ended up with $73 dollars which, since I started there with $0, aint to shabby.
But are the big hourly or half hourly swings an indicator of a problem with my game? Maybe playing a bit too loose or chasing too much? Or is that just the natural variance for games at that level?
I realize there isn't a whole lot of info here, but I'm not realy looking for specific hand analisys (sp?). Just some general thoughts on things to look for to, perhaps, smooth the hills and valleys a bit.
Thanks in advance for any thoughts.
Dean

if you are playing tight aggressive then you will have big swings compared to those who play tight passive. some days you will just grind it out, winning steadily, other days you will shoot up like a rocket, still other days you will miss every draw you pump and end up down huge. sounds like you had a combination of the latter two. perfectly within the realm of expectation. just check out your average BB/hr, as long as it's (+) you are doing fine. declare victory and go home.
