Today I played a hand that finally applied some of the concepts of hand protection. I think I did this right. If I didn't, feel free to let me know :

PokerStars 0.10/0.20 Hold'em (10 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

Preflop: Silverfist is BB with 6, 3.
UTG calls, UTG+1 calls, UTG+2 calls, 4 folds, Button calls, SB completes, Silverfist checks.

Flop: (6 SB) K, 6, K (6 players)
SB bets, Silverfist raises, UTG folds, UTG+1 folds, UTG+2 folds, Button folds, SB calls.

Turn: (5 BB) 8 (2 players)
SB checks, Silverfist bets, SB calls.

River: (7 BB) J (2 players)
SB checks, Silverfist checks.

Final Pot: 7 BB

6 way to the flop your 63 isn't gonna win... even wih bottom pair odd are some one will hit a higher pair or has a K already... -EV play my guess is that SB probably had you out kicked...

This play really depends on your read of SB and the others in the pot. If SB is a moron that frequently bets out into big fields with nothing and the rest of the table is tight and won't stick around after the raise unless they have a K, then good play. If however SB wouldn't bet without a mid pair or K and the rest of the table is full of loose aggressives, then you would be better off just folding With 5 other low limit players in the pot, I would guess that folding isn't usually a bad idea here.
