I'm tight, but when I play a hand, I go hard and often too hard.

See my response to ShotFrog's post in:

Any pointers, tips etc. on how to temper my over aggressice tendencies?

seriously the same thing happens to me... I bet with a good hand only to get called down with a better one all the time. If they don't show aggression, I am assuing I am ahead. I lose some pots like this but mostly they are calling down with worse kickers.

I've seen it on here all the time, bet till they tell you that you are beat.

Man, I can relate to that. (not the roids thing )

I want to stay being an aggressive player. No doubt about that. I just need to be able to better recognize situations where I need to slow down. I think I need to keep telling myself that if I get one or more callers on my marginal hands (anything below TPGK) when I bet out on the flop that its time to reconsider continuing to be the one to take the lead on throwing money in on later streets.

Does anyone want to take a stab at providing a bullet point list of situations where they bet out on the flop and tell themselves that it's time to slow down on later streets?

I refuse to be the guy who is sitting on AK and always says ... I like to see a flop for cheap before I bet on my big slick. #$%#$ that!

I just take notes on the guys who call down anything passively and try to make sure I have at least TPTK to bet it out on all streets...
