If you asked me before I would declare myself strictly a no limit poker kind of guy. A friend got me into a limit poker room online a couple weeks ago and since then I have been addicted to them. In a way it seems that there is more of an art to betting and there are more people in the pot. Anyways thanks for hearing my rant.

if you came to avoid variance, limit is not for you.

Lol.
I'm glad that you enjoy limit, but don't (excuse the pun) limit yourself only to one type of Hold'em, or even Poker for that matter. We all agree that winning is fun, and the most fun I have is when I'm playing solid poker and making money doing it.
If there's a No-Limit table with a bunch of passive players, and a limit table with super aggressive donkies, I'll take the No-Limit game any day. My no limit skills are only just a shade above average.
I LOVE 7-stud, and have no idea what I'm doing playing Omaha High low.
lol.
Glad you're here though, I hope I, and any other player here can offer sound advice.

The older I get, the more I start wondering; Just what in the hell is going on here?

I think that you're making the wrong point. When you are starting out in poker, limiting yourself to one discipline is often the best idea.
When you have more experience, and more cash behind you, then you can branch out into other forms.

Limit is more consistent in terms of profit. Playing SnGs or NL ring games can give you some massive swings, but solid Limit play will almost always give you a solid profit. It is alot more fun to play NL, but Limit pays the bills.

I think that 6max LHE is more fun to play than 6max nl.

I disagree with all these statements. If you are not playing limit because you
A) find it more enjoyable -or-
B) think your edge is greater (very, very unlikely)
Then you are playing the wrong game. For a given $win rate, the variance is greater in limit holdem than almost any other form of poker, and much greater than SnGs or NL ring.

To win in poker you only need to be one step ahead of your opponents. Two steps may be detrimental.
