I'll make this play occasionally (meaning 1-2 times a session) on the button with connecting cards as small as 23s and other limpers ahead of me (so it doesn't look like I'm trying to steal). My intent is more for advertising, to generate action for my good hands. Occasionally I"ll flop a monster.

PokerStars 0.25/0.50 Hold'em (10 handed)

Preflop: Hero is Button with 5, 4.
UTG calls, UTG+1 folds, UTG+2 calls, MP1 folds, MP2 folds, MP3 folds, CO folds, Hero raises, SB folds, BB calls, UTG calls, UTG+2 calls.

Flop: (8.40 SB) 2, 5, 5 (4 players)
BB checks, UTG bets, UTG+2 calls, Hero raises, BB folds, UTG 3-bets, UTG+2 folds, Hero calls.

Turn: (7.70 BB) 4 (2 players)
UTG bets, Hero raises, UTG calls.

River: (11.70 BB) K (2 players)
UTG bets $0.4 (All-In), Hero calls.

Final Pot: 13.30 BB

UTG mistake #1, limping in with AA
UTG mistake #2, did not reraise preflop
UTG mistake #3, did not check raise the flop (debatable)
UTG mistake #4, come on you're behind, check/call turn and river, or fold to the turn raise

Hero mistake #1, why are you raising with 54o with 2 callers in front of you? like table image is important and all, but no one cares at this limit. they'll pay you off regardless.

I couldn't agree more. At 2/4 I see 12% and under VP$IP multi-table rocks get called down with all kinds of crap. Obviously, they don't have a table image problem...

You're right in that long-term a play like that isn't profitable. But like I said I'll do it (at most) once or twice a session. To be honest, it's FUN, too.
